Like many projects in New Jersey West Orange has a broad range of action sports participants. There is a large BMX scene so the new skatepark design had to be laid out in a way that it served BMX bikers as well as skaters all in the same facility. This All Wheel Park concept is becoming more and more common, especially in places like West Orange. Through the development process of the skatepark, American Ramp Company drew up preliminary designs that were shared with the community at a neighborhood meeting in order to get feedback and make sure that the elements of the park were in line with what the user group wanted in a park. Using the community feedback the final skatepark layout was created. The park, which was installed in mid 2017, consists of 4 main zones to include different types and styles of riding. A Pro Series halfpipe is in the heart of the park and has his off of both sides leading to different center sets and end ramps. One of the runs is focused more on a BMX style of rider and the other a more traditional skatepark center set. The design also has a variety of street features and includes three different PRO Ops Features that were developed and designed with input from professional skate boarders whose signatures are featured on the ramps.
