What started as a Leadership Crawford project has turned into a skate haven, now attracting skaters from all over Arkansas and the surrounding region. Initially, the Leadership Crawford group contacted ARC to help them with info gathering of why they needed a skatepark in Van Buren. The goal was to use the location of their city pool, which was once a thriving area for their community. The pool had been closed since the nineties and was an eye sore in their beautiful city park.

At that time, other groups had projects they sought to complete. Ultimately, the skatepark project was not selected, but that didn’t stop them. The skatepark group presented the project to City Council, and it was game on from there. ARC conducted design meetings with skaters, getting down to the fine details of what design they wanted. Now the City of Van Buren has a skatepark that they feel gives their community the best skating experience possible.
